2012 FILA Oceania Championships

Australia will be the host Nation for the 2012 FILA Oceania Grappling-Pankration-Amateur MMA Championships.

The event will be held on the 28th January 2012 at the Sydney University Aquatic Centre.

This will be the qualification event for the 2012 World Championships to be held in Moscow later this year.
Proof of Citizenship is required.

Competitors are required to have a current 2012 FILA Licence which covers insurance for all FILA International event.

Licences will need to be purchased before the weigh in on the 27th January 2012. The cost of the Licence is 100CHF (Swiss Francs).

The competition entry fee is 40CHF or $45 AUS.
The competition will consist of 4 separate styles. Grappling No-Gi, Grappling Gi, Pankration and Combat Grappling (Amateur MMA)
Competition is open to Seniors (20 and older) Juniors 18-19 years of age may compete with a medical certificate which states they are fit to compete against Seniors.
Weight divisions are uniform across all 4 styles

Men: 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 90, 110 kg
Women: 50, 55, 60, 65, 75 kg
With the addition of Absolute divisions in both Grappling and Pankration divisions.

Combat Grappling will require a medical certificate and blood works.
FILA rules state the following provision;
Athletes having more than 4 professional MMA fights are not eligible to compete in FILA Combat Grappling.
This still has not been approved by the CSA and at this stage the competition is only open to amateurs.
